Introducing MOJO: Part II

At MOJO, we treat issues that are often talked about the least, but impact us the most.

Not all reasons for pelvic dysfunction are obvious, and not all remedies are common knowledge.

This is why MOJO was formed - to bring awareness and discussion around pelvic health issues that impact so many people

You may be asking, “But why the pelvic floor? What is so significant about this part of the body, and why would you make a whole specialty within physical therapy just for this?”

To help answer this question, we want you to take a moment and think about your pelvic floor.

Your pelvis and the pelvic floor within it is a very dynamic system of muscles, fascia, ligaments, and bones that work together to allow you to do anything and everything throughout your day.

This amazing system must work correctly in order for your body to: get blood flow to your extremities, maintain bowel and bladder control, perform sexual functions, bring humans into the world, and allow you to feel capable, strong, and connected to your body and to the lifestyle you want. These are just a FEW of the many things that depend on a healthy pelvic floor, but these are some of the most basic, primal aspects of life that we must maintain to perform and meet our basic needs. When any of these aspects of your life are disrupted because of issues in the pelvic floor, we can feel embarrassed, incapable, defeated, or controlled by our limitations and issues.

“Helping people to participate in activities again without pain, without peeing on themselves, or without bowel accidents is life changing. I am helping these brave people regain a quality of life that many felt was unattainable.” - Sara Lynn Johnson Fultz, Co-Founder

Many of the patients at MOJO come by referrals or word of mouth. They’ve heard the stories firsthand from peers or family members who know what it feels like to finally have relief by working with someone who knows how to treat the root cause of their issue. We are constantly hearing from our patients that pelvic floor physical therapy changed their life and that it took years to find this care.

We see you. We hear you. We understand you.

This is our motto at MOJO, but it’s also our promise to you. We strive to set ourselves apart with  patient care that is centered around you, your goals and your needs. Our model of care is centered around listening to you and helping you learn to listen to your body. From there, we just see ourselves as the guides on your journey to pelvic health wellness throughout your life.

“I am so excited to share MOJO with you all in the capacity that it is now and to invite you along to be a part of what it will be. We are working to push pelvic health wellness and care forward. We all need and deserve to be well, to be cared for, to be seen, heard, and understood. That is my hope for myself, my girls, and for you all.” - Amy Moses, Co-Founder

A huge component of our MOJO model is the two year mentoring and training program that each of our physical therapists participates in. Our team goes above and beyond with their pelvic health training by completing our in-house mentoring program as well as completing coursework through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. We are all lifetime learners and will always pursue more skills and knowledge as the field of pelvic health expands and grows with more awareness and research.

Our MOJO team is sensitive and attentive, dedicated to making your session relaxing, validating and worth every moment of your time with us.

When you see a MOJO Pelvic PT, you know you’re in the best hands and are accepted and acknowledged for where you are and where you aim to be. Let’s do this.
