At MOJO, we understand what you're going through…rushing to the bathroom all the time...leaking when you exercise or laugh...enduring painful sex or excruciating menstrual periods...or simply, living with that “heavy feeling down there.” Pelvic physical therapy is the solution.
Not all reasons for pelvic dysfunction are obvious, and not all remedies are common knowledge, which is why so many of our patients find us through referrals and word of mouth. They’ve heard the stories firsthand from peers or family members who know what it feels like to finally have relief by working with someone who knows how to treat the root cause of their issue.
To understand what we do, you first need to understand the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor comprises muscles, ligaments, tendons and connective tissue that forms a highly complex and dynamic system. If even one small area of the pelvic floor system is affected by an injury, high levels of stress, a postural issue, or a major life event like childbirth, surgery, or a medical condition, this can impact and affect your bowel, bladder, and sexual health as well as other areas of your body from your back and neck to your feet. It is crucial that we address issues in the pelvic floor as we assess your body as a whole.
Pelvic health physical therapy is a specialized, proven approach to treating dysfunction within the pelvic floor muscles and associated tissues, which contributes to common conditions such as pelvic pain, incontinence and sexual dysfunction, among many other issues. Our background, education, and training as physical therapists are based on correcting musculoskeletal impairments and dysfunction. Our pelvic health training only builds on this foundation enabling us to more effectively treat the whole body, the whole person, not just the condition and not just one area of the body.
From the moment you reach out to us, our team strives to ease your worries and any concerns you might have about seeking treatment. Our treatment sessions are private and one-on-one with your physical therapist. We welcome partners or a support person if needed. A session typically includes hands-on treatment techniques, exercises, and education.
Our team is sensitive and attentive, dedicated to making your session relaxing, validating and worth every moment of your time with us.
